«We need a uniform and centralised view of the company data that unites all business areas of Denner AG and that is available and usable at all times for all relevant departments.»
ADRIAN BODMER, CFO DENNER AG
OUR SUCCESSFUL COOPERATION WITH DENNER AG STARTED WITH THIS ORDER IN 2014.
Our client on the Denner side – CFO Adrian Bodmer and CIO Manuel Fondo – had the vision of introducing a new cash register system within a short space of time and setting up a new, company-wide KPI reporting system that would enable the use and analysis of management-relevant data across different departments. The biggest challenge for the project team was to prepare the article data generated by the POS system in such a way that it was available centrally and comparable across the entire value chain.
SOLUTION FOR DENNER AG
With our solution, we have designed the data model in such a way that highly aggregated data can be analysed directly down to the smallest unit at item level without media discontinuity. With XL3 and XL3-Web, Denner AG is now able to provide around 1,000 employees with uniform and, if required, highly granular data. Both specific needs of controlling as well as those of the operational areas of purchasing and sales are covered with a very comprehensive data model.
CUSTOMER VALUE
From more than 180 rigid reports, a portfolio of a total of 30 dynamic standard reports could thus be created for Denner AG. This includes a report for supplier meetings with different views and levels of detail, as well as a price/quantity/mix report to display information from the sales price OP to the net margin at item level, or a report for daily, weekly and monthly performance measurement of the points of sale. This approach has led to a significant increase in effectiveness and efficiency, and allowed controlling to invest more time in interpreting the data and less in preparing it. The standardized data catalog and integrated management have created the basis for better managing Denner AG in the digital age and further developing the existing analysis options.
